Programmes
Holyrood provides for each child's individual needs. Our programmes are structured around these incorporating programmes for 0 - 3 year olds and the Early Learning Goals for children aged 3 - 5.
Each age group has their own learning plan which caters for individual needs and abilities. Long term, Monthly and Weekly planning is displayed in each room for all parents to view.
Working Alongside Birth - 3 years Matters

The Foundation Stage consists of 6 Early Learning Goals for 3 - 5 year olds.
These are:
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Communication, language and literacy
- Mathematical development
- Physical development
- Creative development
- Personal, social and emotional development
Our Pre-School rooms all have a resident Teacher who works alongside the nursery nurses in order to challenge, stimulate and encourage the children's independence.
In order to progress each child's development an individual child assessment and evaluation is carried out on a regular basis. These are available for parent viewing at any time.
Monthly topic sheets are sent home explaining the theme over the following 4 - 6 weeks. This enables the parent to feel included in their child's learning by giving ideas of activities they can do at home with their child to reinforce their play at nursery.
